I am thrilled to say that yesterday, we took just over 215 bars of soap and donated them to Bethlehem House! I sincerely hope that they are able to help many homeless people and families in and around our awesome city of Conway, Arkansas.
Part of our pledge is to try to impact the community by donating to homeless shelters.
Any time we have a batch of goat’s milk soap, that isn’t pretty enough to sell, or if we change the fragrance and can’t use the soap with the old fragrance, we donate the soap to local homeless shelters.
The reason this is so important to us is because good hygiene lowers your risk for diseases and illnesses commonly spread through viruses and bacteria. Your hands come into contact with bacteria every time you cough, use the restroom, touch your pet, or touch surfaces, such as stair railings, used frequently used by others.
Some people may ask, “Is homelessness really an issue in Conway?” Here is what Bethleham House has to say about this…
“In short, yes it is. In 2018, we provided housing to 60+ individuals and families and two newborns came home from the hospital to Bethlehem House.
Our mission at Bethlehem House is to encourage, equip, and motivate homeless or nearly homeless families and individuals to move from being alone, afraid, ashamed, and depressed to becoming independent, productive, self-supporting members of the community.
Homelessness is not only stressful, but spiritually, emotionally, and sometimes physically, painful. Our mission is to encourage, equip, and motivate homeless or nearly homeless families and individuals to move from being alone, afraid, ashamed, and depressed to becoming independent, productive, self-supporting members of the community.”https://www.bethlehemhouse.net/
